Compliance with both governmental and corporate regulations continues to be of the utmost importance to our business. All Samsung Display products are compliant with environmental and safety certifications applicable to the digital display and electronics industries.
All electrical and electronic products sold in EU market after July 1, 2006 must pass RoHS compliance certification. Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) requirements, also known as Lead-Free or Directive 2002/95/EC, restrict the use of the six hazardous materials that may be used in electronics. Digital display industry is subject to RoHS compliance standards.
Companies selling digital displays or display components, such as LCD or OLED panels, to RoHS countries directly or through resellers, distributors or integrators dealing in these countries must not exceed the maximum levels for the six restricted materials:
- Lead (Pb):
- Mercury (Hg):
- Cadmium (Cd):
- Hexavalent Chromium: (Cr VI)
- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB):
- Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE):
All Samsung Display panels are lead-free and RoHS compliant.
UL is a global independent safety science company and is one of the largest and most active CB Scheme members. CB Scheme is an international system for mutual acceptance of test reports and certificates dealing with the safety of electrical and electronic components, equipment and products established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
This multilateral agreement helps product manufacturers and distributors involved in international trade achieve uniform safety, quality and compliance standards. In addition, CB Scheme facilitates global acceptance of test reports leading to national certification in CB Scheme member countries as well as their acceptance in countries not yet participating in the agreement.
All Samsung Display panels are UL/CB Scheme certified.
